Anna Marks


Anna joined Purcell in October 2019 and oversees the digital content and social media across the 14 studios within the practice.

Anna studied psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London, and afterwards completed a part-time MA in Curating Contemporary Design at Kingston University and the Design Museum. Anna wrote her MA thesis on how the perception of bioart has changed within the last decade and gained a distinction.

Anna has a keen interest in materials, heritage, and the intersection of architecture, design and science.She has a background in art and design journalism and has written for Wired UK, Colossal, The Creators Project and SynBioBeta, among other platforms.

She has also completed freelance campaigns and exhibitions with the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Rhode Island School of Design in addition to other organisations.

Prior to joining Purcell, Anna was Content Editor at the Building Centre, managing digital content for the organisation based in central London. Anna has also worked at Shakespeare's Globe, and during her BSc undertook a 4 month research internship at the Royal Opera House.
