Smaranda Ciubotaru

Architect, BSc(Hons), MArch, ARB

Smaranda first joined Purcell as a Part I in 2016. Since then, she has completed her RIBA Part II and III, having graduated from the Welsh School of Architecture with First Class Honours. During her time at Purcell, she has worked on a variety of projects, among which are the Hilda Besse Building at St Antony’s College, the Porters Lodge at Corpus Christi College and the History of Science Museum.

She has a keen interest in the relationship between old and new in architecture and particularly enjoys working on projects where historic fabric turns into a canvas for the ongoing development of places.

Smaranda is also passionate about all forms of artistic hand drawing. When she is not drawing buildings, she enjoys drawing people, being particularly skilled with portraits and caricature.
