Matthew joined Purcell in 2019. He has several years’ experience working in the Heritage sector, with an emphasis on the repair and reordering of historic places of worship. He has been involved in the works on site at Auckland Castle & Newcastle Cathedral and has a practical, hands-on and collaborative approach to project delivery.
His particular interest is in new interventions to historic fabric and the careful articulation of junctions between the old and the new through bespoke design solutions. For Matthew, the practical challenges and problem-solving inherent in even the smallest of details is a delight that makes every day in practice unique and exciting.
