Andy Panayi, The Crown Estate

As Conservation Adviser to the Estate, Purcell is responsible for safeguarding the fabric and character of these distinguished buildings, enhancing the asset value of the estate, and enabling the residents to enjoy the comforts and convenience of contemporary living.

We act as lead consultant for a range of projects involving work of all types and scales, from the reinstatement of historic interiors to the careful repair of iron railings. The practice also provides a full architectural service, from concept design and buildings appraisal through to implementation on site. Major renovation schemes have been carried out at St. John’s Lodge, the Finnish Ambassador’s residence and the American Ambassador’s residence at Winfield House.

Cornwall Terrace has recently undergone a major conversion from office use back to residential.

Hanover Terrace still retains a significant degree of original historic fabric.

We have reinstated the historic interiors of various properties and upgraded the mechanical and building services without affecting the historic building fabric.
