Will brings a wealth of experience in the practical conservation and management of heritage assets, as well as an enthusiasm for adaptive re-use.
In 18 years’ at Historic England, Will gained an in-depth understanding of heritage policy and funding for heritage sites and regularly advised government departments and other public bodies on the management of their historic estates. His experience includes leading the Government Historic Estates Unit, managing the National Capacity Building Programme and oversight of the First World War Memorials Programme. He has written numerous reports and guidance notes published by Historic England and is an AABC accredited consultant architect.
Since joining Purcell, Will has been leading heritage consultancy in the West and Southwest whilst contributing advice on national projects including expert witness work and advice on the redevelopment of prisons and hospital sites.
