Frederick has great experience in conservation, housing and commercial work. Becoming a conservation accredited architect has concentrated Frederick on historic building conservation since 2000.
He previously ran an in-house architectural division for a housing association and was a partner in a practice specialising in housing. In 1997 he won a Scottish Homes Housing Association competition for a scheme that demonstrated innovation in quality, procurement and sustainable design.
What excites Frederick is how each historic building is unique and consequentially each project presents different challenges. He marvels at how old buildings have a habit of revealing more about themselves as work progresses.
