Senior Architect


We have an exciting opportunity for a talented experienced Architect who can lead project through the design and delivery phase to join our Norwich Studio. The role will involve joining a team working across several interesting sectors embedded in historic setting throughout Norwich and across the wider counties of Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.

The successful candidate should evidence keen attention to detail and high-quality examples of their work submitted with applications. You will also be asked to submit a short case study on the delivery of a recent project during RIBA Stages 4-6.

You will need to be able to display a can-do attitude, willingness to learn and understanding of Purcell’s projects and culture. We will be looking for the below experience in all applications submitted:

  • Minimum ten years’ post part III experience within an architectural practice.
  • Keen interest in conservation -accreditation not essential but some experience essential.
  • Demonstrate good client-facing communication skills
  • Financial awareness of project performance and team management.
  • Excellent hand drawing and visual presentation skills.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of every RIBA work stage.
  • A strong eye for detail.
  • Well organised and proactive approach to managing work and projects and a delivery team of Purcell Staff and External Consultants.
  • Essential: Ability and experience of running small projects (at least £500k CV).
  • Essential: Proficiency in AutoCAD. In addition, 2D drafting such as AutoCAD, 3D modelling in Sketchup and in Photoshop and/or other graphic presentation software.
  • Desirable: Proficiency in Revit. Developing a project in 3D and using BIM Standards.
