Brian Anderson

Consultant, BA DipArch RIBA AABC

Brian has spent many years assessing and conserving heritage assets and designing new interventions to secure sustainable futures for them. This work regularly demands an understanding of the detailed technical aspects of building conservation, the strategic issues that govern urban development, and the ability to advocate for change where necessary.

He worked for more than 30 years in London, and for the past eight years has been managing the Purcell office in Hong Kong, from where the business currently runs its Asia projects.

He lectures extensively on conservation and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he tutors in the undergraduate design studio. Recently, he has been appointed to the Technical Committee on Building Safety and Health Requirements for Historic Buildings under the Buildings Ordinance in Hong Kong.
