Brian Anderson, Purcell's Director of Cultural Heritage based in our Hong Kong Studio, is speaking at the RICS International Heritage Conservation Conference 2019, in Hong Kong. The conference explores the social values of preservation of heritage assets to the community and society. This topic is increasingly pressing given the need for many cities, especially Hong Kong, to re-vitalise old buildings amid land shortages and concerns about cultural preservation.

The two-day conference aims to bring together leading professionals from a variety of sectors to share case studies on several heritage projects in the region. Experts will also discuss a range of topics, from heritage revitalisation policy changes to long-term sustainability strategies. Brian moderated the Project Insight to Implementation panel discussion.

The conference is planned to conclude with an exclusive guided tour of Tai Kwun Centre for Heritage and Arts, the revitalised Central Police Station Compound completed by Purcell in May 2018.
