We are delighted to announce that Purcell is now an accredited Real Living Wage employer.
Based on everyday costs and needs, the Living Wage is voluntarily paid by around 7000 UK businesses who believe their employees deserve a sustainable, decent wage in exchange for their work.
In line with Purcell’s collaborative, inclusive and positive values and following our transition to Employee Owned earlier this year, being accredited as a Living Wage employer is important for several reasons.
The move sets a principle and shows we are committed to paying a decent wage – significantly more than the national living wage - both today and in the future. The Living Wage applies not only to our employees, but the contractors who regularly support us, including our cleaners, who work hard to keep our studios clean and safe.
By backing the scheme, we add weight to the overall campaign to get businesses to pay a fair wage based on the actual costs of living in the UK - specifically in London - and in choosing to join 7000 other UK businesses in paying the Living Wage to all our staff and contractors, we are taking the lead to ensure a fairer future for our society.
