Nicola Hewes, Purcell’s Regional Partner for the West, spoke at the “Maximising the Potential of World Class Universities” session at this year's MIPIM UK Summit.
The MIPIM UK Summit is the leading UK event for the built environment. It is a place for industry leaders to gain insights from a high-level conference programme, to network and connect. The MIPIM UK Summit sits at the intersection of land, buildings, infrastructure, environment, economics, society, culture and technology, addressing the biggest issues facing UK real estate today.
“Maximising the Potential of World Class Universities” assessed investment and city development in London and across the regions. The UK has some of the most famous and best universities in the world. The session explored the effect that world-famous educational institutions have on real estate development and investment, and to what extent education is top of the list for investors when making their investment decisions. It also examined whether we are making the most of their contribution towards city development and whether cities can work better with them. It also assessed the latest on investment education projects underway or in the pipeline across the UK along with examining the space and place needs that universities have.
