All three Purcell projects shortlisted for the 2022 RIBA South/South East Awards – Cobham Dairy, The Story Museum, and God’s House Tower - have been announced as prizewinners, with Cobham Dairy also awarded the RIBA South Special Award for Conservation.

The Story Musuem, Oxford

A previously derelict Georgian dairy, sensitively conserved and transformed into a comfortable holiday home; a suitably playful, permanent home for Oxford’s Story Museum; and a Grade I listed building and Scheduled Ancient Monument turned arts and community centre for the people of Southampton.

Representing three out of a total of twenty RIBA South/South East winners, the projects reflect Purcell’s varied and important work within the heritage sector.

After a century of dereliction, James Wyatt’s dairy has been sensitively adapted as a one-bedroom holiday let.... Such commitment is rare and to be celebrated, especially as it has resulted in a building that can now be enjoyed by a wider public.
