Celebrating International Museum Day

From London to Hobart, Manchester to Melbourne, museums are more than cultural repositories — they are living archives of our shared heritage, identity, and imagination.
This year’s theme "The future of museums in rapidly changing communities" highlights the role of museums in fostering cultural and educational learning within a rapidly evolving world.
Purcell has had the privilege of working alongside visionary clients, designers, curators, and their communities across the world to create spaces that honour history while embracing innovation. We’ve played our part in revitalising many of these cultural landmarks by securing funding, enhancing accessibility and ensuring they remain vibrant, inclusive hubs for both historic objects and the communities they educate and serve.
Our most recent work for the National Gallery’s NG200 programme saw the unveiling of the Roden Centre for Creative Learning and the much-anticipated and lauded reopening of the Sainsbury Wing.
Here are some just some events happening this Sunday:
The National Gallery is showcasing “The Wonder of Art”, a reimagined display of European masterpieces.
