Purcell’s 20th Century Heritage Consultant, Jon Wright, will speak at the Royal Institute of Architects’ Modernising Modernism on the 26th of November.
In recent years, many iconic Modernist buildings have undergone restoration. RIBA’s Modernising Modernism talk brings together five architecture practices that have worked on some of the most significant examples of Modernist architecture within the UK.
Expert and leading Heritage Consultant at Purcell, Jon Wright, will discuss High Cross House, a Grade II listed building. The building was initially designed as the Headmaster’s House for Dartington School by the Swiss-born American architect William Lescaze, a pioneer of modernism in American architecture.
Purcell redesigned the historic house into a learning hub as part of wider revitalisation of the estate, fixing the negative impacts of previous conservation efforts.
