Senior Associate / Partner – London Studio Leadership

This is a brilliant opportunity to work within our London leadership team, to take the lead in managing the 60 person Bermondsey studio, structured within 5 teams, in our geographically diverse business model. We’re looking for a charismatic, talented architect, a people manager and leader, who is a results-driven, tenacious, go getter, to run the studio. An individual who can also get involved in managing a mixture of bespoke architectural projects and deliver new business.

Your role will include:

Working closely with the Regional Partner and Studio Manager, you will lead and manage the studio, with a turnover of £6m, plan resources across all architectural projects in the studio so that it is successful, ensuring financial profitability. Working with Studio leadership & HR to run the studio day to day, you will be an excellent communicator, with experience in employee relations and line management, work winning, the complexities of resourcing & recruitment, whilst empowering employees to achieve goals as a collaborative team.

We are a progressive practice, so you’ll need to understand our culture and strategy, identify opportunities and be responsible for managing and developing staff.

Skills, knowledge, experience:

  • Minimum 15 years post-qualification experience
  • 5 Years’ experience leading and managing complex project teams
  • Lead and manage the seamless running of all architectural projects to the highest standards.
  • Aptitude for business management / Commercial awareness
  • Proven ability of leading, managing, and developing individuals and teams
  • Experience of working with Studio leadership & HR to run a studio, with excellent communication and people skills
  • Hands on experience of major refurbishment projects
  • Delegation skills
  • Excellent presentation skills (Visual, written & spoken)
  • Ability to organise and plan – analytical skills
  • Proven work winning skills
  • Able to uphold and embody the Purcell values and behaviours

Qualifications, Accreditations, Memberships

Essential: ARB, RIBA

Desirable: AABC, IHBC, RIBASCA
