HERITAGE CONSULTANT – BRISTOL or OXFORD
We are looking for a Heritage Consultant to join our growing team in the West of England. You could be based either in either our Bristol studio (preferred) or our Oxford studio. This is initially for a 6-month period, but we will consider extending this for the right candidate.
This is an exciting opportunity to grow your skill set due to the wide range of work we undertake. You will be part of an integrated team of architects and heritage consultants contributing to the successful management and conservation of important heritage assets in the west of England and further afield. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual who can produce reliable and authoritative advice on historic buildings and other heritage assets. We offer flexible working conditions, with the potential to work at home for two days per week.
Reporting to the HC Team West Lead, you will work as part of the regional team as well as the wider practice. You will be able to take responsibility for the successful management and efficient delivery of your project work. You will provide heritage advice and guidance, undertake research and assessment of buildings and sites within the historic environment, and compose and contribute to various reports such as Conservation Management Plans, Historic Buildings Appraisals and Impact Assessments.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are vital, as is the ability to adapt to a variety of circumstances. A can-do attitude and an ability to engage creatively and originally in all aspects of the job are essential. Contributing to the practice and the promotion of good heritage conservation will extend beyond project work.
