Since joining Purcell, Iain has worked on numerous projects across East Anglia, with an emphasis on churches. The conservation of the historic fabric of churches and the use of traditional materials and techniques is of particular interest to him. Iain has also worked on secular conservation projects, some of which have involved the addition of contemporary structures within listed contexts.

Iain enjoys drawing inspiration from existing buildings to design new structures that respect and complement their context. He is equally comfortable using photographic archives to research lost or damaged architectural features and design replica replacements.
