Elizabeth Smith
Associate, Architect, BA (Hons) DipArch MA RIBA SCA AABC
Elizabeth has been with the practice since 2002, making a significant contribution to a number of high profile projects.
Her drive and enthusiasm for projects involving historic buildings has led her to take key roles on the National Maritime Museum Sammy Ofer Wing, No. 1 Millbank, Knole House, and St Paul’s Cathedral South Transept. Elizabeth is a visiting tutor for the professional practice RIBA Part 3 course at the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University.
Elizabeth gets great satisfaction from working in historic buildings and places. She believes that designs can be more creative within the specific constraints and rich context of the historic built environment.
It’s the contrast of old and new, the dynamic possibilities of creative conservation that interests her most. This means paying close attention to the detail of each building and finding opportunities for enhancement and renewal.
