Jamie Coath
Partner, Architect, BA DipArch DipCons AA RIBA
Jamie’s specialist expertise lies in taking conservation projects with initial potential for the Heritage Lottery Funding (HLF) and building them into viable schemes. He has experience working with key statutory bodies and the heritage lobby.
His considerable negotiation skills have been honed in his daily dealings with the HLF and English Heritage (he is an advisor to both bodies), local planning authorities and conservation officers. As an expert at synthesising many different uses and requirements for a particular building, he is adept at winning acceptance for a scheme from all parties.
Complementing his ‘people skills,’ Jamie has a strong technical bias, fulfilling the role of stonework expert within the practice and advising on projects nationwide. This technical expertise extends to other conservation issues such as paint analysis.
‘I love the challenge of taking a ruined building, making it stable, then finding a suitable reuse to secure its future’.
