Conservation

Whether we’re undertaking stone-by-stone conservation works to a gothic cathedral or creating new uses for derelict 20th century structures we take an informed and scholarly approach.

This is applied effectively through technical expertise, practical experience and meticulous attention to detail.

To identify opportunities and provide guidance on the management, maintenance and environmental protection of buildings and sites, we assess and balance each building’s historic significance against its physical condition and vulnerability.

Our regional teams of conservation architects and heritage consultants have the local sensitivity, funding knowledge and architectural vision essential for the sustainable regeneration and long term welfare of historic sites.

"Purcell is professional.  There is a feeling of something quite ambitious about the practice.  They are progressive in comparison to other conservation architects I’ve interviewed. Self-confident."
